The Songbird

A welcome note from the owner :

I'm a veteran of the Indian Army, still smitten by the outdoors and the treasures they hold. The mountains especially enthral me! Wildlife, photography and books are my other loves. Thus I sought to build a home for myself in the Blue Mountains... The Nilgiris. I wanted a plush home in a space that spoils me and allows me to embrace my interests unabashedly. Songbird is a result of that desire. Set just that right distance away from the crowds... amidst verdant mountains and valleys with a spectacular view of the Kattery Waterfall right next door! You will sleep to the gushing waters as they fall through 180 ft, and wake up to the urgent twitter and talk of birds as the sun rises to the east over Mettupalayam.

As your host, I hope this space smothers you with joy, warmth, liveliness and that you leave with a renewed zest for life. I have ensured that you have very well appointed rooms, bathrooms and comfortable beds. I promise you homely and delicious food to sate your stomachs and tastebuds ... just let the manager know well in advance to arrange for cooking what you want. There is a thoughtfully filled bookrack and some coffee table books for book lovers such as I. I promise something there for everyone. And yes, do bring your cameras.. you have spectacular views around here too.
